Teradata OLEDB 1.2.04 failure

Just updated from OLEDB 1.0 to OLEDB 1.2.0.4 from the Teradata web site. When I try to create a connection test (Tdata.udl) I can enter the server, UID and PWD but when I test the connection I get "Test connection failed because of an error initilizing provider, catastrophic failure'

Pretty impressive message. Nothing on Google and Teradata Forum is down right now.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you updated rather than remove/install, you may want to do try a new installation after removing the current version first.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had a copy of OLEDB 1.0 installed which was working in a limited way with ASP.NET 2.0.

When I installed the updated 1.2.04 version I first used the add/drop program option to get rid of the OLEDB 1.0 version.

I still get the same error message about unable to initilize provider. Today the Tdata forum was back up and nothing matched the OLEDB issue I am having.

I have created an OLEDB thru ODBC connection and it does work but I have some doubts about the performance.
