We have VMPro. Is there any way to set a temporary greeting to be used at a set time like the Magix? We want a holiday greeting when we are closed for a holiday and would like to be able to set it ahead of time to run just that day and then go back to normal. Thanks for any help.

Sue

Everything about VMPro auto attendant needs to be configured so there is no "standard" functionality for a temporary greeting. When we install, I usually build a "temporary preamble" that plays before the regular greeting. The customer records this during holiday periods. When holiday is over, they record a second of silence and then only the 'regular' greeting plays.

Thanks for the reply. That is what I suspected. How do you get the temporary Preamble to play before the regular greeting? Thanks again.

You'll need to modify the auto attendant menu structure using the VMPro client. Essentially you need to add a greeting to your main menu then build the capability to record the greeting. If you're not familiar enough with the VMPro client, you may want to get your business partner involved.

Just use a condition with the calender in it.
You just double click on the day you want to play the greeting.

You can also change the greeting if you like.
If the condition matches the day then you get the greeting, else you go the normal route (which you have to setup or add in the callflow)

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

Last time looked there was a temp greeting capability, though not sure if the same as on Magix. Its similar to the one from the INDeX.

once logged into the mailbox,
'3' to administer greetings
'3' to activate a greeting
'1' The number of the greeting to activate (assuming '1' is recorded'
System will then prompt for what purpose the greeting is to be activated.
1-for all calls
2-for Internal Calls
3-for External Calls
4-for Number Enaged/Busy
5-for Timeout/no answer
8-for Default
9-for Temp
'9' To activate for Temp Greeting
System will then prompt for a number of days for the greeting to be activated followed by '#'.
Once the number of days have elapsed, the greeting setup previously configured is restored.

As well as via the Phone Manager, theres probably other ways to set the temp greeting.

Thanks for all the replies. For TaureanDragon it sounds like that is on an individual extension. Will I get those options when using the Voicemail Pro client or by doing the greeting dialing *99 for the system greetings. thanks again. We are new to IP Office and just finding out the questions to ask.

We use a hidden option off of the main AA that is a menu:

Press 1 to close the office (Set User Defined Variable to CLOSED)

Press 2 to open the office (Set User Defined Variable to OPEN)

Press 3 to record a Temporary Greeting (Edit Playlist)

Then we use Check User Variable in front of all AAs on the system.

You can make a time profile just for this date and
assigned it to AA

The condition editor can handle this; we use it for weather-related emergencies for those customers who require it.

It's a little tedious to set up, but when done correctly, works perfectly. There's lots of step-by-step info available in marketing tools.

Sorry - I didn't read your request thoroughly - the condition editor is the answer, however, by using the calendar function; and we use this on every installation which has VM Pro and auto-attendants.

Susanvv, you are right, my description was for user based temp greeting.
As for the setting up of a temp greeting for the auto attendant enabled by the use of user variables and the condition editor as described in the other posts is the way to go.
Sorry for the slow response, a haphazard visitor these days.
