Hello. Does anyone have an idea on how to redirect the "Temporary Internet Files" folder to a network share?

I created a group policy which redirects Application Data, My Documents, the Start Menu, and My Documents, but the temp internet files are still being stored on the local machine. This is a new network we are building, and I don't want to run into the problem we have with the old network, where temporary internet files have completely filled our server's OS partition. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Maybe I don't understand the problem but it sounds like you're frequently using IE on a server. Bad idea. Why?
But if you must I suggest changing the settings for the IE Temporary Files (location of files, sum total size of files) and use your group policies to prevent users from changing that setting.

No, my problem is that when a user logs on to a terminal server, their temporary internet files are stored in the OS partition of the server. I am attempting to prevent this problem in the new bank of servers we are creating, and I cannot find a way to do this other than manually redirect each users temp internet files folder. Group Policy folder redirection does not seem to answer this. Is there another way?

You could just clear temporary internet files when the person closes ie, this is done through IE Tool > options > Advanced, under Security select Emtpy Temporary Internet Folder when broswer is closed Im the little person who likes to help..

I have about 200 users that I support, and I don't want to have to manually remap each users account. Can this be done? Thanks!

Hello, I thought I should mention that I have not yet created the user accounts for this domain. (We are creating a new domain and then we are going to recreate user accounts from the old domain.) What I am looking for is a way to automatically redirect temporary internet files as the accounts are created in this new domain. Thanks!

Just like faithless said, I would just delete all IE temp files on logoff/IE shutdown through Group Policy.

Where is the setting in Grou Policy to delete upon shutdown, logoff, etc. I'm trying to accomplish something similar and I can't seem to find that setting. I could have sworn that I saw it before but can't find it now. Anyone?

Matt
