temporarily relocate operator

Option 11c

We need to temporarily relocate our operator during a roofing repair for a month.
I need all incoming calls to go to a 2616 phone in an office.
I have been researching using the night service, but I cannot see how to program it that way I want.
I have already looked at the documentation.
any help would be appriciated.

You should probably start by printing the NIT_DATA in ld 21.
It may be as simple as changing NIT1 to the DN on your 2616.
But you may also have different NIT treatments by time of day.

Do I just change the NIT1 to the new DN?
Will I need to change it back when she goes home every day or is there a way I can schedule it?

You must not be looking at the right documentation. Check out Night Service in the Features and Services Fundamentals.

You can schedule with something like this:

NIT1 3000
TIM1 08 30
NIT2 7000
TIM2 16 30
NIT3
TIM3
NIT4
TIM4

Calls will ring at 3000 between 8:30 and 16:30 then ring at 7000 all other times.

I think that is exactly what I needed.
I do have the documentation, I just do not speak Nortel very well.
I was thinking each NIT needed a specific start and stop time.
The stop time is the start of the new NIT. I'm good now.

Why not move the console? Don't let the DB-25 to 50-pin Amphenol cable scare you. You can make an adapter cable from the DB-25 on the back of the 2250 to an RJ-45 plug or jack so you have the two console TN's and two power TN's and use CAT5 cabling (you don't need all three unless you're locating it a long distance from the PBX).

Or a 50-pin Amphenol whip to an RJ-45 jack.

This allows you to use new or existing CAT5 cable between your MDF or IDF to the phone's new location... rather than having to run a 25-pair from point A to point B.

Just need to know the pin-outs of the console cable, the RJ-45, and how to cross-connect everything correctly on the MDF and IDF.

I've done this before with no problem - worked on the first try too. Unfortunately I didn't keep any notes as it was a one-off project.
