I am attempting to create jmy first template based page in DW 4.

On the template page I have content that I wish to be at the bottomof the page, a footer.

I am having difficulty getting a layer to force to the bottom of the page, I don't know what attributes it needs in order to be permanently at the bottom.

I would appreciate any help,

Henry

This gets into the issue of adapting a page to different monitor resolutions. A layer at the bottom on a 17" monitor would not be at the bottom on a 21. Is this the problem your having?

Thanks for the reply,

I don't hink I made myself clear enough. The issue I am having I believe is even simpler than the resolution problem you described.

I have a top portion of my page with non-editable regions, then I have an editable body region in the middle and at the bottom I want to have a non-editable footer. An area that appears at the bottom of the page when you scroll down.

But what I have now are the top, the body then a layer that I place after the middle body section, but it just appears floating in the middle of the page when I preview it. I just want to force it to "stick" to the bottom?

Does that make sense.

First, insert the layer and name it. Second, put a spacer (clear GIF) image at the bottom of your page. Lastly anchor the layer to the image.

I boutght a package from and love it. It taught me how to use layers and make them go where you want.

Although layers are native to Dreamweaver, projectseven gives you an add-in that allows you to anchor layers to objects on your page.

Good luck.
