I am sorry, I dont know if this is the right place to post this, but I looking to install temperature sensors around the computer room which is around 40/30 feet. I want to connect the sensors to computers via USB/Serial so that they can send me an email/pager either,
- when the temperature goes beyond a certain temperature, say 80
- send me hourly email updates during the night
- dialy updates

I did find a few when I googled around,
but I am looking for recommendations based on user experiences and industry standards.
Please advice.
Thanks.

You probably also want to be able to administer enviroment controls remotely from the Web. I used to work for a state agency here in AZ. Our maint. manager had software that would notify him of a/c failures, temps to high, etc. He was also able to remotely fix such problems (Sure beats the hell having to drive into work if you don't have to).
