Hello there!
I'm using LINUX Mandrake 9.2 and I need to connect from LINUX machine to HP UNIX server. I'm using GTELNET from GNOME,but I have one issue.I put this into bash_profile file to start it when local user is logining to PC.(gnome-telnet user xx.xx.xx.xx)
I get connected without any problems. But when disconnecting , I cannot get back LOGIN window of local PC (program just disconnects telnet seesion and that's all)
Do someone know, hot to get login window, when disconnecting the session? Or there's another solution maybe.... :)
Many thanx,

Syky

Instead of using telnet to connect (very insecure) you should be using SSH.

It is easy to use and can be accessed by using your command line shell.

OK,thx for reply, but the host machine where I'm trying to login is running bussiness application (server is HPUX10.20)!
Is it possible to use SSH in this case!?
Thanx

Syky

YES YES YES. SSH is a VERY COMMON means of securely connecting via a telnet-like method. You should do so PARTICULARLY because you are talking to a high-end system with business applications software (and DATA) running on it!

Talk to the Sys Admin about running an SSH session, touch base with HP if you are unsure about how to get SSH running on the machine itself.

YOU SHOULD NEVER USE TELNET, EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER...
