Hi!!

Please, help me..

I have a solaris 7 server..
and it was working well until i installed flexlm and a c license..

The problem is when i telnet it, the response is:ld.so.1:

login: fatal: libc.so.1: open failed: Too many open files
Connection closed by foreign host.

The server response if a make a ping to it, and ftp function too.. if i telnet to localhost in the server it doesn't response..

I don't have any idea about it, please help me, it is so important ..

Thanks in advance.

Try adding 'set rlim_fd_cur = 256' in /etc/system and rebooting for Solaris 7 - raises the numbur of concurrent open file descriptors per process from 64 to 256. For Solaris 8 this value is already set to 256 - you could try raising it to 512.

Also check the LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable since both ld.so.1 and libc.so.1 are dynamic link loaders - has the C installation replaced a statically linked library with a dynamic one?

Thank's for your response, but i tried it and the telnet problem continues.

:(

The server is recently installed..

Thank's a lot.

Try

ulimit -n unlimited

Above is not a perm fix it will reset after each reboot

If this works you'll have to change the following in /etc/system

set rlim_fd_max = ??Whatever you want??
set rlim_fd_cur = ??Tuning documents suggest setting this
to a max of 1024??

Mike
