Telestrobe Flashing Light for ACS System

Hello - I've got a customer w/an ACS R7 system who is asking for a visual light to be installed in their treatment area that will flash whenever a call is ringing, so the employees will know that a call is coming through (apparently it's a quiet place, so the ringers are all set very low).

Will the standard Wheelock telestrobes work in this way? I've seen the PS-33A and a couple of others, and just want to make sure I'm getting the correct item. The light would need to work so that it would flash whenever a call came in, no matter what line or extension.

Thanks in advance!

The standard Wheellock strobes can be plugged into the Aux port on the phone but the phone only provides enough power to make it flash maybe every third ring. I have put in wheelock or viking strobes that have a 110v transformer. The 110v provides power to the strobe the Aux port activates the strobe.

If you have unused extentions you can connect the strobe to one of these ext. Place the power supply in the wiring closet. Connect the power supply to an open pair as the strope only needs tip and ring to fire it. So use bl/blW for the tip ring and O/Ow for the power supply. If you use an open ext the strobe will ring for all calls. DO NOT DAISY CHAIN off existing ext.

Thanks so much for the info! Forgive me if this question is silly, but how does the power supply connect to the strobe?

Checking the Wheelock site, I could use a PS-33A and put that in the "treatment" area. I'd then use an EPS-2401 Power Supply and plug it in the wiring closet, following the wiring instructions Phoneman80 supplied.

Now, how does the Power Supply in the wiring closet connect to the PS-33A? Via a standard RJ11 from the wall jack in the "treatment" area that corresponds to the unused extension on the open pair?

Just trying to save any wasted time and $$ on tech costs, etc.

I don't know if you read the instructions for the PS-33A-WPW unit, but it does not need a power supply. It gets its power from the line that is connected to the PS-33A-WPW. The diagram shown in the instructions, shows Tip/Ring on pins 2 and 5 of the 6 position Modular Jack. That being said, depending on your wiring and the Modular Jack, those will determine what pair you will connect to the station port of the Partner ACS.

You can download the instructions from Wheelock's website using the documentation tab. The document is in PDF format.
