Ok. I am at my witts end here. I have rebuilt my TM server, completed a fresh install and all was working fine until a day ago when my web station manager part or whatever it is call now, died on me. I keep getting the error below. I have completed a fresh stand alone install follow all documentation by nortel and installed latest patches and still get this error everytime i try to use the web station admin to add or search a DN, TNB or anything. I have been told that I need to be on Java 5.2 which I have tried. I even tried it with the latest version of java as well. NO go! Uninstalled TM again, reinstalled set all sites back up again and made sure that it was using java that is with the software. still samething. Can anyone help me out and offer some assistance?

One thing to check is the ethernet ports. If you have two ports on your machine make sure that you bind order is CLan 1st. Also make sure the ports are live.

I used to get this/or similar error when I ran TM3.x on my laptop. Worked great if the network ports were live, erorred when they were disconnected. I was tryint to program a lot of chnages while travelling on a train, ready for uploading later.

It lookes like a Java error. What version of Java are you using? Most likly have to roll back Java. I had to go back to Version 5.0 update 6. Also make sure Java isn't set to auto update.

This is a stand along server. It did work and i could do everyting in TM before (add tnb, dn, change, search) and just stopped working. I am pretty sure it is Clan first then Elan and I know 100% those ports are live as when i go in the system windows, I can get to my other sites.

Hoizy, I did try rolling back java. I beleive it is on 6 right now as was willing to try anything at that point. i will see about removing all java and installilng 5.0 update 6 and see what happens.

Anythign else I can try that anyone would know of?

Ok fellas, I have J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 update 2 and Java 6 update 5. However, when I unistall one, TM Web station manager doesn't work or the apache tomcat service errors on start.

Do you get any Service errors upon bootup? Make sure that the following services are running:
Apache Tomcat
FTP Publishing
Postgre SQL Database Server
IIS Admin Service

When I loaded patch 3102841SU2p I was getting similar errors.
Check Tomcat configuration, JAVA tab. The path should show:
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_12\bin\client\jvm.dll

If it is different you'll need to update it and restart Tomcat.

mdsikes, yes all those services are running and no errors on bootup.

1Rita1, That patch is installed and the tocat configuration tab for java says c:\program files\java\jre1.6.0\bin\client\jvm.dll

I know that is preobably the wrong one so we changed it and TM server is rebooting. This is also a win2k3 server.

THanks to everyone how offered their advice. I ended up unistalling all java and isntalling Java 1.5.0 update 11 then rebooted my TM server. Once restarted, I received an error that apache tomcat hasn't started. Tried to restart and got and error. In the confif I had to check use the default. Once that was checked, apache tomcat restartedf and the Web Admin part was working once again.

TM is now updated with all my sites info.

Thanks again for all your great advice guys!
