I am changing out our office 3300 with release 8 software to a new 3300 MCD4.0. I transferred the licensing from the old one to the new one and I am trying to restore the database from the old controller to the new one. It appeared to be working but after a couple of minutes I got an error “telephone directory synchronization mismatch”. I believe when I initially fired up the new controller I selected SDS when I should have chosen OPS manager for directory sync.

Two questions—

First--will this even work, given the software differences?

Second—if it will work, how do I change the directory sync to allow me to move forward?

thanks for the help

OPS and the new RDS (Remote Directory Sync) are incompatible at the DB level. The only way to go back is to restore from a DB prior to the change.

Good Luck.

Not exactly the vernacular I would use were I in your shoes, but it will suffice

Actually what you need to do is do a full install to the 3300 this time select ops then run the restore then you can migrate to the new data distribution. If you are in a clustered environment you must have all controllers on MCD before the migration.
