When I took this position in July I was also gifted with a Telemate CAS. While not crazy about it, I have to live with it.

For some reason Telemate is not reporting internal calls, just incoming and outgoing. I need to determine if it's the Definity or the Telemate that is causing this. We're running a Definity r6 (yes, six), connecting via EIA. Below are the CH SYS CDR settings. If anyone has Telemate can you match and advise of any suggested changes?

Node Number (Local PBX ID): 1 CDR Date Format: month/day
Primary Output Format: printer Primary Output Ext: eia
Secondary Output Format:
Use ISDN Layouts? n EIA Device Bit Rate: 9600
Use Enhanced Formats? n
Modified Circuit ID Display? y Remove # From Called Number? n
Record Outgoing Calls Only? n Intra-switch CDR? y
Suppress CDR for Ineffective Call Attempts? y Outg Trk Call Splitting? y
Disconnect Information in Place of FRL? n Outg Attd Call Record? n
Interworking Feat-flag? y
Force Entry of Acct Code for Calls Marked on Toll Analysis Form? n
Calls to Hunt Group - Record: member-ext
Record Called Vector Directory Number Instead of Group or Member? n

Inc Trk Call Splitting? n
Record Non-Call-Assoc TSC? n
Record Call-Assoc TSC? n Digits to Record for Outgoing Calls: dialed
Privacy - Digits to Hide: 0 CDR Account Code Length: 2

Many thanks in advance if anyone is able to assist. As you can see Intra-Switch CDR is turned on and every station in the system is added to CH INTRA...believe me, they're all in there.

I use Telemate, but I don't record internal calls. I use the Avaya Reliable Data Protocol to capture my CDR out of the switch. It's a small executable that formats the data and puts it into a file that Telemate takes and processes.
Depending on how you're capturing your CDR you should be able to find a file which would be "pre" Telemate. My CDR goes into a file that I arbitrarily named Telemate.txt
I can look directly at that file in Wordpad and see how calls are being recorded. Here is a small section of it:

01/08/07 15:41:06 Data Received:
154300011 9 61 2333336 3987 7 380 1 010

One column represents the caller (233-3336)
And one represents the called extension (3987)

I would imagine that internal calls would be sorted in a similar format. If you can find a file similar to this that would tell you if the problem is with Telemate or not.

The Definity does not as a default record extension to extension CDR info. Inorder to record ext to ext info you would need to administer the intra switch cdr screen.

Hope this helps.

Archer1300,

Like I said in my original post, Intraswitch CDR is already active and all stations are programmed. I still get no extension detail for internal calls.

TBarrnes,

I'd be interested in finding out what this executable you mention is. Must bear in mind, however, that we are at R6 and have to use EIA output.

Many thanks so far!

I am not familiar with EIA since I am using CDR1 on an R12 switch. I can point you to the executable or email it if you're interested.
Thanks TJ

DJ, I have been trying to find out the same thing. I have someone that has been working with Avaya support on this problem for 3 months. As I write this note, Avaya is remotely testing a couple of stations I have set up for them for this purpose.

I have Telemate on our S8710 and we cannot get station to station calls recorded, no way in hell. We have checked and double checked and rechecked every setting we and Avaya can think of with no luck. We have also talked to Telemate at length.

As soon as I get an answer I will definately let you know. This has become a quest at this point.

The only thing I can add to this is that I think I once read something about Telemate and the gut feeling is it basically said that Telemate does not/will not record station to station calls on some systems. That's all I remember about whatever it was I read.

I used to administer the Telemate stuff back when we had a ROLM 9000 system a couple of years ago but someone else does that now and has come to me asking for ideas.

I hope I will have something for you soon.

Rick
