How can I tell a 206E 4.1 for a 206 3.1 there is no sticker on the outside.
The PC Admin software only tells me it's a version 3.0 or higher...
Any help?

Thanks Dexman, but I was wondering if there was any way to get system feedback or info on what the unit was without having to test everyone of these. You know feature ** "Magic VooDoo" and the phone displays 206EC 4.1, ya hear!

LOL.

Just hoping..

Without any type of sticker or other form of identification, I can't think of any other way to determine which release a processor is other than checking for features. There may be a way, but I'll have to defer to senior technicians for a final answer.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

WhoData - you're talking about EXPANSION modules.

A 206E is used strictly as an expansion module.

A 206 without the "E" is actually a "Baby Partner" system, a 2x6 key system that can be paired with a 205E to make a 4x12

OR it can be placed in a 5-slot carrier along with a processor (Partner Plus, Partner II, or Partner ACS) and even though it is a Baby Partner system, it becomes an expansion card instead. All of its features and functions come from the Processor in this situation.

The only feature I recall through the revisions of 206 expansion modules was the ability to light MW lights on single line phones. That, and the earlier releases would shut down a station port if the data pair became shorted, requiring a power cycle to restore, while the later ones were more robust.

Finally, for ANY Partner system, you can dial Feature #1 while off hook on an outside line. You will hear a series of touch tone "1's". Note the number and pattern of the beeps, and there is a cross reference on Avaya's site to determine the version and release of the Processor.

Change the "205" to "206".

I made the assumption that the OP was talking about 2 processors. [purpleface]

Thank you all.

From what I found and all I’ve asked there is no discernable difference between these 2 units the 206E 3.1 and 4.1.

Thank you for all your help and correct me if I am wrong.
