Hi,

We recently bought a couple of VERY expensive Compaq servers which uses a utility to team the network cards.

I have a few other non-Compaq servers which have a couple of NIC's in and would like these to team up and load share for me. Is this possible with Windows 2000 server, without the compaq agents running?

Many thanks in advance.

Steve

I am not sure, but there is considerable documentation on this in the Win2K Server help file.

I think it is possible to use multiple NIC's, but full Netowork Load Balancing appears to be limited to Advanced Server Only... James Goodman

No as far as I know this is not possible in W2K

But what you can do is insert a multi LAN card
for example: D-Link 580 TX about 130$

working quite propper whit this card!!

W2K does support NIC ganging/teaming. We have 2 setup using 2 Intel Gb adapters, and 2 setup using 2 Intel 10/100
Pro adapters. You must have matching NIC adapters to do this.
