We have Remote G650 ( critical reliable) media gateway connected thru DS1C converter complex ( Not IPSI Controlled) . At Peak Times the Media gateway keeps resetting again & again, logging out all CSRs. Another issues faced are silent calls, drop calls etc. We have already checked the Blocking in terms of TDM Bus, PN Time Slots etc. every thing is okay within limits.

Another Thing to share with you, The DS1C link with G650 is connected thru the Microwave Link.Does the Microwave link is causing these issues?Does Any one have any experiences with Microwave Links for remote Port Networks.

Actually we had replaced all key hardware & important boards yesterday.Yet today again Two PNs went down at the same time. Now we strongly suspect the microwave link? Is it happening due to Link? How to be certain about it?We also noticed some ES & SES ( Error seconds & Severe Error Seconds) on the "li measure ds1-facility log"report. Just before the reset it shwed 4 seconds of ES/SES.

Was it working and suddenly these issues occured?
Or is it a new install?
Are you running any data traffic over this link as well or is it strictly voice?

Actually we are experiencing these problems from tha day one, specially during the peak times.

Data traffic is also run over the link in addition to voice.

Microwave tends not to work well with voice due to the delay involved with those links. Out of curiosity what are your ping timers when you across that link during the peak times? Anything over 150ms round trip and your voice quality and performance goes down the drain.
Data on the other hand is a lot less sensitive and can recover from such delays.

See if you can get your data guys to change the MTU (maximum data transfer unit) to a smaller size. The universal default on data is 1500. Try cutting it in half and use 750. See if that smooths out your traffic for you. Data will hog the bandwidth at 1500 on lower bandwidth mediums.

Also, it's only "just about voice" on the C&D links of the DS1-C. The A&B links shift a timing/data channel between the 2 links as the PBX sees needed to keep the Port Network up. I suspect you will need to get at least 1 LEC provided DS1 tie to maintain the EPN timing but the microwave should be fine for the actual voice on links C&D, and probably B. With the price on the IPSI's coming so far down ($2K ish) a better bet may be to get rid of the DS1C stuff and replace with an ipsi.

Thanks lopes, what do you mean by LEC?

Do you recommend IPSI instead of tone-clocks? We are at CM2.2 hence the IP connect is not possible. What about the signalling over the IPSI IP Link?

Please advise

You can't have an IP connect in CM2 so the DS1C is the only option other than gettng newer IP gateways like a G350 or G700. LEC - Local Exchange Carrier - Local Phone Company. i.e. get 1 T1 tie line line from Verizon or ATT, etc to use on the "A" link.
