I have a TDA30 and TVM50 connected in DSP mode and with the TVM50 set to Voicemail mode. (No need for auto attendant features)

There are 10 extensions in an ICD Group that ring for all incoming calls and it overflows to Voicemail after 20s, or instantly when in Night mode.

What I would like to do is have a single mailbox for the ICD group that plays one greeting for Day mode and one for Night mode, then records a message. I would then like the message lamp to light up for all phones in the ICD.

Could someone tell me the best way to do this? Should I be using the general delivery mailbox with different company greetings for day/night mode, or should I set up a different mailbox?

Thing I'm struggling with is getting the call to go into the general mailbox, after voicemail picks up the call, it plays the company greeting but then asks for a mailbox number to be entered. I'd like it to play the greeting, record a messages and then dump it in a mailbox that is accessible buy all, with no other prompts or options for the caller.

Thanks for any info

You will need to create a mailbox with the same extension number as the icd group.

You can then record day night greetings in that mailbox.

Set up a mailbox (icd group) notification button on all icd group members phones.

Thanks for the quick response, I should have been able to work that out myself now seeing how straightforward it was. I did what you said and it works.

One question I do have, rather that using a button for icd group message notification, is there a way I could make use of the message waiting lamp on the phone, or does that only work when a physical extensions own mailbox is in use?

That light is generally for individual messages, but you can forward a message from one mailbox to another, but not lots of mailboxes.

If you need notifications for all users you could consider putting a LAN card in and set up email notifications,

Thanks again.

One last question on the subject...

Incoming calls go to the ICG floating extension in day mode. In night mode I'd like the calls to go straight the to ICG mailbox without ringing.

In the DIL table I currently have the ICG extension (6601) for day mode, and voicemail extension (500) for night mode.

When in nightmdoe the call is picked up straight away by the VM but of course it plays the company greeting and asks what mailbox to be directed to.

What is the best way to configure it so that in day mode it rings the ICG extensions, then in night mode goes straight to the ICG mailbox?

I would create a new mailbox and match the icd group.
Route calls to that mailbox in night mode with an intercept to 500 in night mode
You will need to record a greeting (if you do the no answer greeting it will play that)
Dont put any members in group.
Set up 2 buttons on handsets day and night messages.

There are a few different ways of achieving this, so if this doesn't work for the customer let me know
