Called in to make a minor modification, making one extension ring immediately on six CO lines, matching that of the port 1 (OPE) extension, I cannot enter program codes manually. After logging into the program mode, I can browse the first dozen codes (001 through 013) but, when I attempt to enter 603 (or any three-digit code) it responds with three-beep error at the third digit. Everything else on the system, programmatically and operationally, is fine, but I can't do anything beyond the first dozen programming options. We did not install this system. Is there some manner that programming at the OPE phoneset (7436) has been disabled?

Sounds like you are logging in as manager and not installer
And the main options are not available in program ** (manager)

In Program Mode, I'm logging in with the default **1234. That's the manager login and *#1234 is the installer login? (We may have to guess at the installer password, if not the default.) Haven't encountered this on other D1232's we've installed, though I haven't had to revisit those installations in years. Time to call in one of the young guns, I guess. Thanks.

obtsystems, you were correct. Program | **1234 was to USR-PGM NO?->

System owners no longer (no surprise) have claimed documentation with installer login password (default *#1234 invalid). Any suggested alternate passwords? Thanks

What version is the system. The password could be any number at all could not even guess

If you have a -4 or earlier, there is a password find trick that installers know. There is also a password "cracker" program floating around.

If we tell you, we'd have to kill you. It's not a huge deal to default the system, unless you have a lot of trunking or data in the box.

As the system is functioning as required, with exception of one new extension that needs to immediately ring on all CO lines, we were extremely reluctant to attempt the Clear switch password discovery/reset process and risk losing all current programming if a mistake is made (during business hours).

Logged in as manager, or otherwise, what code confirms/displays the version?

Thanks

LOL Don't be silly. It's in 116.....I guess you can't get there from here.
