TD1232 Extensions Alternate Ringing

On TD1232, Jacks 01 and 24 are programmed to ring immediately. All others are NoRing. The odd thing is, the jacks are ringing at alternate times: When CO lines (1 thru 4) ring, Jack 01 will ring once, then Jack 24 will ring, then Jack 01, etc. Is this a function of Jack 24 being on the TD170 expansion card? Is there anything to force Jacks 01 and 24 to ring simultaneously? Thanks
 
Calls from CO Lines (1 through 4)seem to have been configured to ring at Jack1 and if not answered it forwarded to Jack24.

And if Jack24 does not answer its forwarded to to Jack1 and so on hence the alternating ringing.

Put the two extensions, jack1 & jack24 in the same incomming call distribution group and direct the CO Line calls to that group.

After an office downsizing, the TD1232 was reset to factory defaults, all CO's ring on all jacks, then Program #603, where all CO's were set to NoRNG on all jacks EXCEPT jacks 01 and 24, which set for Immdt. We don't want to exclude the other extensions from picking up incoming calls, when they hear the two extensions ring. Any suggestions on making the two extensions ring simultaneously without excluding CO access for other extensions?
 
We found that only jacks 01 through 08 would ring simultaneously. All other jacks (09 through 24) will ring on the second and alternate rings. I thought we'd be able to assign Extension numbers to specific jacks, to resolve the alternating rings, but the programming (#003) wouldn't store any attempted changes. C'est la vie!
 
it should be able to set any ringing on any line to any extension

if changing extension numbers you have to change the target extension number to something else first it won't allow the same extension number to be stored to memory
 
Thanks obtsystems. The system will ring any CO at any extension desired. We discovered, through testing a dozen extensions, the extensions would only ring simultaneously if they were jacks 01 through 08. We didn't test to see if that held true for jacks 09 through 16 and 17 through 24, respectively. The end result is, when we program (#603) jack 24 to ring on all four CO's, in addition to jack 01, incoming calls will ring jack 01 once, then jack 24, then jack 01, etc.

Whenever they attempted store any extension numbers (#003), the three-tone error notice would indicate an invalid entry. They did attempt to assign unused extension numbers to target extensions with the same error tones, etc. Perhaps jacks 25 through 32 should be disabled to allow those extension numbers to be assigned, until the extension number 24 can be assigned to jack 08 and vice versa.
 
you can only assign numbers as extensions starting with the lead numbers that are assigned in number plan, 1-2 or 2-3 are default lead numbers.

if you are saying the phones ring out of sink,by one ring or half ring that is because the system does it to stop the system ring generator overloading
 
The system only has enough power to ring 8 phones simultaneously, my understanding is it starts at the lowest port number assigned to ring in the system until it reaches 8 then alternate rings the next 8.
 
As obtsystems stated, the system alternates ringing to avoid overloading the ring generator. We thought, with only two ports set to ring, that wouldn't come into play, but the system will ring ports 1 through 8, then ring other ports, then 1 through 8, etc. We didn't try setting one of ports 9 through 16 to ring, in addition to port 24, to see if there was a another alternating ring pattern.

Our solution, for the clients' requirement, is to install an analog phoneset (port 001-2), in the distant room, to ring with port 1 simultaneously.
