TCrpeDS / TTX Files to pass a Dataset to Crystal

I need to load a dataset from my app (written in Delphi) into Crystal and design a report,.. this seems to be getting more and more complex... for such a simple task.

Anyways , I have been pointed towards TTX files and TCrpeDS as a soultion for this task (Crystal V.9 Developer Ed is what im using) ,.. Does anyone know where the TCrpeDS exists in the VCL...? need to find instructions on how to install and access this object...

It is relatively simple once you get the hang of it. It involves much manual stuff but it is an excellent solution to data access and FREE!!!!!! I assume you have the Crystal VCL components.

Examples below:

My reports, the SQL & TTX are stored in the database as blobs and recoveredfrom the database to a directory for use
by the program.

You have to create the SQL & TTX manually to support the report fields. Start with the sql and run it against DB to verify SQL and fields. Then make the TTX. Name both the same as the report will be named. Start new report and name/save. Add database (SQL/TTX) and you are off and running. Code examples below.

This runs the report. The datasets and transaction are on a DM. There is special stuff imn jhere to do things unrelated to the basics of running a report. Ignore stuff that looks weird.

This information is great regarding the TTX, thanks.

Im still having trouble finding this TCrpeDS object to use.

The same instructions I get from Business Objects are
to install the VCL, which I have done correctly I believe.
From the 'Crystal Reports 9 ActiveX Designer and Run Time Library' Install the TCrReport, TCrDatabase and the Crystal Report Viewer Control 9. These components now exist in my environment and I can drop them on a form etc.. I can't seem to find the TCrpeDS Data-Source object in the Crystal Lib's.. any idea's, I cant find any instruction on how to install it either, where it lives...

I don't know what those are. I am using CR 7.x. All the instructions/help files I have don't mention those components.
Standard components do what ever you need. I have hundreds of these reports and have been runing flawlessly for years.

Look in the help file for the vcl component and check "The Active Data Object".
