hi me and a friend are writing a game. part of it is the chat. it will be sending lots and recieving lots. at work i read that a ghost program can do udp multicast to reduce bandwidth load. any one out there know any info on this, if it exists, or any info on how to optimize our packets? thanks Karl Pietri

Take a look at the WinSock Multicase site hosted by Stardust. ( I've never done multicast programming, but from what I've heard, not all ISPs and routers support it. So you should attempt to use it, but if you fail to connect, you'll have to go back to using good old UDP.
