TCP/IP and os 9.1. Lag o rama?

I have a g3 233 mhz computer that I have connected to my dsl router. At random times, IE 5.0 seems to "hang" for a period of minutes (5-10 at some points)before moving on. I'm at my wits end with this one. Does anyone have any ideas?

Apart from the obvious (use Netscape), I've found that Entourage definitely and Outlook (probably) really fouls up my IP stack when they're running - I now quit them as policy before using any browser.

The other possibility is that MRJ is taking it's time - you could update to v2.2.5 if you haven't already.
