I have been asked to enable TCP Inspection on our 7204 routers. I havn't work with it before and have been looking for information on the topic. I have read some general docs from Cisco's site, but still don't rally understand what exactly it does and how it is different from ACLs. I may not have read the correct docs. Can anyone offer some info or somewhere to go for some basic info on what/how it works? Thanks!

ACL's limit traffic. IP INSPECTION makes sure that the protocol has not been 'altered' after the first rule permits it. AKA it checks every packet that comes in to make sure it conforms to the protocol.
