taskdir.dll trojan 1

Hi,
Recently infected pc with detected by NAV. I assisted and ran NAV, spyware doctor in safe mode. All produced similiar results but this one keeps coming back. Virus information I gained below from prevx.com
Tried some manual steps I found via::I was unable to complete work from above link and stopped by to check the site and post (since I found nothing), for comments/suggestions prior to diving in tomorrow.

The following should fix this one:


go to :

and do this.

To remove the process taskdir.dll, follow the instructions below.


Download and run Process Explorer, a free tool from SysInternals.
Locate taskdir.dll in Process Explorer, right click on it, and choose Kill Process.
Using Windows Explorer, locate the file c:\windows\system32\taskdir.dll and delete it.
If you cannot end the process or delete the file, reboot your computer into safe mode, and try the previous 2 steps again.
Once the file has been deleted, reboot your computer.

Update the defs and do a sweep.

Update it and run a complete scan.


I would also check it with some other virus scanners just to make sure.

Thank you Eric,
Symantec had a removal tool I was able to utilize. Spyware Doctor & Ewido provided some clensing, an additional NAV all from safe mode has resolved this issue.
