I'm trying to alter a scheduled task and add a domain user account and PW to setup the task to run, but when I hit apply it gives me the following error.
"An error has occured while attempting to set task account information. The specific error is: 0x80041310: Unable to establish existence of the accoujnt specified. Ensure the account name specififed is valid."
The only major thing that I screwed up lately on the domain is the following.

I made the mistake of clicking OK when looking at the GPO settings for, Microsoft network (client, server): Digitally sign communications always: Enabled, last week. I also did this for the "IF possible" options. I fixed the problem after I realized by changing it to disabled, except for on the client "if possible" I left this at enabled, but I wonder if it may have some lingering affects.

I am still able to connect to other resources like exchange and I can still log on to the domain and access shares with no problems. I can also run the task using a local account on the machine. Any help would be great thanks.

Are you entering the user id in domain\username format?

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

Yeah,

It's the default format I use when trying to authenticate to anything.

Check the local security then to be sure the account you are specifying is in the Local Admins group.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark
