In Project 2003, I use the Notes field (a rich text field) to describe details of a task.
When exporting to Access or Excel, the content is truncated at the first carriage return (ENTER) in the field.
I tried to break the field into many text fields (up to 255 char.), without success.
Any clue?

You don't say if you were copying from Project to Excel via Copy&Paste or using VBA.

There are several limitations you will run into.

1. Excel2003 cells hold 32K characters, display a max of 1024 in a cell.

2. Project Notes cells (or any other text field) hold 255 characters, displays a max of 255 characters

3. Project Notes RichText holds 32K (I believe) but when the data is displayed in a cell only the first of 255 characters or a NewLine are displayed.

Possible workaround: save the project as an Access file and look at the Access table definitions -- you'll see that you should be able to get to the text data and then go to a memo field which may hold (but I don't know what format) the full text of the Notes field.
