Hi there!

I have a little problem, i don't know what happened but since yesterday task manager is disabled, i have no turn off button or the run option in my computer, if i press "ctrl + alt + del", or "alt + f4" or "windows key + r" i get the same message "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator" and the thing is i'm the system administrator, there are no other accounts in my computer, any ideas?????

Thanks in advance!!! Cheers!

Sounds like someone created a domain group policy or a local group policy to limit that. I will post once I find where that option is.

It can be disbled in the registry here:
Code:
Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Key: Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
Name: DisableTaskMgr
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1=Enablethis key, that is DISABLE TaskManager
Value: 0=Disablethis key, that is Don't Disable, Enable TaskManager
or via group policy

Code:
Click Start
Click Run
Enter gpedit.msc in the Open box and click OK
In the Group Policy settings window
Select User Configuration
Select Administrative Templates
Select System
Select Ctrl+Alt+Delete options
Select Remove Task Manager
Double-click the Remove Task Manager option
By disabling the policy, you are enabling the Task Manager.

Thanks i can now use Task Manager!!!!!!! do you know how to enable the other buttons (Turn Off and Run) Thanks again!!!!!

Probably the same way. Take a look around those templates. REmember to reboot once you make a change or run
gpupdate /force for a command line.

Thanks again problem solved!!!!
