That the message I received when I did the Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up the Task Manager.

Here what I did to get this restriction. I went in to the registry editor and took one of the files out why it was running. It was the Qunj.exe file I think.

I was removing another memory trojan resident program at the time. I did also use the Task Manager too!

I am the administrator of my computer but I cannot locate where I can go to enable it back up again!

Does anyone know how to fix this and enable the task manager again?

Thanks!

Harry

In Pro, Task Manager can be disabled or enabled in Group Policy.

Start/Run/gpedit.msc. User Configuration/Administrative
Templates/System/Crtl+Alt+Del Options.

Registry Settings.

Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Key: Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
Name: DisableTaskMgr
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1=Enablethis key, that is DISABLE TaskManager
Value: 0=Disablethis key, that is Don't Disable, Enable TaskManager

We're doing this stuff for the wealth and fame right?

Thanks for the last listing on Enable/Disable Task Manager that I ran that enable the Task Manager.

I ran the first listing and to my surprise; I am disabled from running the registry editor.

So now I need to have a way to enable the Registry editor!

The message boxes comes up with:

"Registry editing has been disable by the Administrator!"

Oh! My!

Thanks many time over for any further help on this matter!

Hi all,

Well I solve it myself for once. Went in and done it with gpedit.msc and selected the remove remote registry editor and set it as disabled. Restarted XP and it works. I missed a few steps but I really excited that it works!

Thanks for all your help! My computer now works!

Feels great!
