Notice I said "almost".

Problem is the little icons to the right of the START button on the task bar. WinXp insists on only showing 3 icons and then the >> symbol which you click to see the remaining icons.

I need to see them all - there are only 5 - so this >> business is a real pain.

Win2000 let you resize this area but I can't find an option to do this in WinXP.

Appreciate your thoughts.

Make sure the toolbar is unlocked and then slide the divider right next to the start menu to the left back over the start icon and they will appear on the right end of your toolbar next to your clock. Give it a try!

Best regards,
Van

Unlocked - how do you do that?

Sorry I would look around but my machine here is Win2K.

Thanks.

Right click on the taskbar and uncheck 'Lock the taskbar'

Right click start menu, select taskbar tab. From there you will see it listed int he options.

Yep, found this on a co-worker's laptop. Brilliant - thanks very much.

To relock the taskbar, follow the same steps as unlocking it. When you're done, it should snap back into place. What do you mean by "I messed it up"? MCSE, A+

I'm going to guess that the quick launch toolbar is now missing. If that's the case, right click on the taskbar, Toolbars, Quick Launch.
