Tariffs

Our company has a new contract (6 months old) with AT&T. The T1 charges have jumped nearly 80-100%. I'm told this is due to the milage of our locations from a CO. I understand this, but for the cost to jump this much on a Corp contract is uacceptable.

Is there any sites that I could look at the current tariffs for circuit charges?

If you have any info, I would grateful.

LD games. You need to specify "rate stabilization" in all new contracts to keep that kind of thing from happenning. If everyone is offering $.04-$.05, some vendors will special bid lower (maybe $.025) to get your business only to jump to $.06 a short time later. It's perfectly legal. Rate stabilization is needed to compare apples to apples. -CL

Circuit charges (local loop charges for a T1/DS1) are usually fixed at the time of install... are you saying that service was put in, and then the T1 cost went up? I would say that is very unusual. It might be possible that the T1 had a 'discount' that expired, but the actual rate for the local loop shouldn't change. Do you have a price on a quote/contract from them? Who is the 'local telco' that is providing the last mile connectivity?

But then, I refuse to do any business with ATT because of complete lack of support. Good luck...

I probably didn't explain the problem clearly enough. The contract with our two locations ran out (T1 Circuit with AT&T). They were on individual contracts, but now we are under a corp. contract consisting of 14 companies. We are under the ABN plan. Part of the problem was, that the two companies never explained how far from the CO they were. Everyone else is within 5-15 miles. It's still hard to believe they had cheaper rates on an individual plan.
