I have an ICS with 5.0 software, 1 12x0 trunk module, that I will be adding 2 DID cards to. How many target line appearances can be programmed on an extention? Can target lines A&R in the Hunt Group? And if so, if I have a hunt group with 5 members in it, can each members target line A&R to the hunt group?

Thanks in advance,

CCI

Since you have 5.0 you can certainly do multiple appearances of your target lines.
When you go to assign a target line to appear and ring, hit SHOW again. It will say appearances: 1. Simply change it to however many appearances as you have available buttons.

Yes, you can assign target lines directly to a hunt group and yes, you can have 5 members with 5 target lines assigned to the hunt group. Each member will have a hunt group button that calls will ring in on. MRoberts

MRoberts, thank you for your response. So with this in mind, with the 5 members in the hunt group. If I A&R there target lines in the hunt group, when a call comes into any one of these target lines, the 5 hunt group members phones will ring on any of these calls? Whether I set them up on sequential, broadcast, or rotary?

Thanks for the info

When you assign lines to a hunt group the choices are assigned or unassigned. Each member of the hunt group will have a hunt group button that is automatically assigned to the phone by the system. Press feature * 0 to find out where on the phone it is.

When you assign the target line to the hunt group it will automatically ring the phones in the manner that you have it programmed. i.e., if Broadcast then all phones will ring simultaneously on their hunt group button.

Rotary will pick the phone after the one that last answered a call to ring first.

Sequentially will ring the group exactly as you entered it. 221, 222, 223. It will ring 221 alway unless busy in which case it goes to 222 etc. MRoberts

Thanks so much for your input MRoberts, this has clarified it for me.

Also, If you program the member to ring only you will receive the calls on your intercom buttons and save button locations on your telephone. I don't know what you are using for stations but it seems nobody has buttons to spare on their telephones. JerryReeve

We're using T7316 telephones, with dial 9 access. So we have the available buttons to program 2 line appearances of there DID number on each phone. This brings up another question. Now knowing that target lines will ring the hunt group. If I programm 2 appearances of the DID target line to each phone, and that person is on a DID call, will the second call coming into that DID number also ring the hunt group? I think I know the answer, but nothing like being reassured.

Thanks guys

The answer is it should but if everyone has appearances of the lines why put them also in a hunt group?

If you have the line appearance on your phone the hunt group will not work, My suggestion is to have 3 intercom buttons then either have the hunt groups appear/ring or ring only as you desire but if you have the line appear without ringing the hunt group will not cause a ring either.(learned that one the hard way on our own office phones) JerryReeve
