My BCM (6.0) will not let me use "833" numbers in the target line. How can we fix it to accept this new NNX?

It might be worthwhile printing out the programming record in Excel as this can help you search for any "8" numbers. I have added in a guide below to download.

So we are talking "receive digits" on the target lines. "833" is a new Nxx for 800 service. The BCM does not recognize that new 8xx code. Anyone know where to go to fix that?

See our above 2 answers we gave you..
If 8 is being used elsewhere then you cannot use 8.
If 83 is being used elsewhere then you cannot use 83.
If 833 is being used elsewhere then you cannot use 833.
And FYI: 800 numbers are just phantom numbers that point to actual phone numbers (NXX), it is the actual number you need to add as a Target.
Example:
1 800 222-2222 points to Landline/DID 416 567-1234
The carrier sends a set of received digits (the last set), this can be 3 to 10 digits long and starts at the end of the number
234 would be 3 digits sent
Check your BCM to see the Dialing Plan/Received Number Length (you can also look at other Target lines to see how many digits were added)
As long as you enter the same or more than what the carrier sends you are ok.
So the Target line entry would be as follows...
Carrier sends 3 digits - Target Line = 234
Carrier sends 4 digits - Target Line = 1234
Carrier sends 5 digits - Target Line = 71234
Carrier sends 7 digits - Target Line = 5671234
Carrier sends 10 digits - Target Line =
Example of entering more then what the carrier sends:
Carrier sends 3 digits - Target Line = 4165671234 is exceptable

This is a 8xx number provided by Voip.Ms and I am sure it is related to the fact that in the last year they released 833 as the new 800 service number. My BCM works with all the standard 877, 866, 833, etc.

Is this a typo?

Has no effect on the BCM unless as already stated those digits are in use.
It will effect Restrictions if 1 is one of the digits restricted.
I did not know Toll Free numbers were now acting like physical numbers but after reading looks like falling under Virtual DID's
Bottom line is if the BCM will not let you enter or use 8, 83 or 833 then once again re-read the answers above.
