I've been using tape for my company’s backups for quite a few years now and have had nothing but trouble. We recently upgraded to a new Sony AIT Drive (AIT i90-A) and just the other day I went to restore and one of my tapes showed up corrupt. This is getting ridiculous. My drive and media are brand spanking new!
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I'm using Veritas(8.6) for my backups. Is there any chance that there's a software hardware conflict between the two? I've talked to Veritas and they say no. I don't really know what to do, I don't want to have to spend a lot of money on a new product and I don't want to switch from Veritas but I'm about ready to abandon tape all together.
