Tape not full but Backup wants a blank Tape!!

Hi,

I am running Arcserve 11.5sp3 on a SBS 2003 R2 server with a HP DAT72 drive. I currently have 32GB of data including the exchange store.

For some reason the backup seems to get to the same spot and requests blank media or <DAY> Seq 2.

I have formatted the tape, erased the tape, everything prior to running the job and it still gets to this point and wants another tape. - Roughly 19GB

All I have done is recreate the job after a stuck job I removed from the *.qsd directory.

Anyone seen this before? also, if I am backing up Exch bricks level, do I need to back up the store as well?

Sorry, bum steer guys. After looking through the logs it is actually backing up 34GB which to me seems like it is not running compression.

The drive is definatley set to run hardware compression. where can I see if compression is being used for each backup?

to ck compression enabled/disabled, load tape ck ARCserve Device window select drive or tape and ck details in lower right
