Tape is reported full even that it reached only 1/3 of capasity

Hi,

i have installed an old version of arcserver (7.0) and when backing up my system i get error:
"w3828 the tape is full ...."
even that tape should have at least 20 GB left ...

im having hardware compression - on
when trying to chnage it i get error ..

what is wrong ?

i am sure that it is someting that i releted to HW commression.

shuld i turn it off (via registry) and use SW commpression ?

If it doesn't help give us more information on the exact hardware and software combination you are using and any patch and firmware levels.

Make sure you go into the options of the job and it has OVERWRITE MEDIA chosen. The default of all jobs starts out to append.

i did that before but still it asks for a 2nd tape.
i have tried to make a smeller backup but still the same.

is there any media pool / deivce setting that i am missing ?

Err, what part of rate of compression isn't configurable in the referenced document are you not understanding?
