How are your backup copy groups setup? If they are to disk, how often are you migrating? If you do not have enough disk space to backup your nightly backups to disk, then check your activity log for the time that migration started.
Migration works like this: It will take the oldest and largest filespace and migrate it to tape or wherever your migration is. If the desired space remaining in the disk pool until the space requirement you have configured is met.
