Hi,
We have Imation LTO Ultrium 3 400GB/800GB, tapes in a MSL6000 library.

Looking through the Commcell I can see media always uses upto 400GB and then says 'Reached physical end of media'.

How can I get upto 800GB data on these tapes?

In the Storage Policy, the following is set:
Data Path- 'Hardware Compression' checked
Chunk Size- 'Use Application settings' checked

In the subclient, the following is set:
Data Transfer Option- 'On Client'

Am I missing something ?
Appreciate any help.
Thanks

Just a quick guess but is the media type in the media group properties set to LTO3?

Hi

As well as the point that cabraun says....try turning compression off on the client and see if that helps.

btw. you will only find that you will get about 600Gb with LTO3 and not the 800Gb specified by the hardware vendors

Well myuserid7 (MIS),what happened when you turned off client side compression?
