Hello. Can anyone recommend a tape backup system ? We have six servers which we would like to back up to an autoloader system but do not if we can back up all the servers on one autoloader or if we will need an autoloader for each server. Can anyone help?

thanks

Steve

It's important to know how much data you'll be backing up. Tapes come in a wide variety of capacities, generally the higher the capacity of the tape, the more $$. THe capacity of the tape, along with the number of slots in the autolader will ultimately dertermine how much data your system can handle. Since this equipment is relatively expensive, don't forget about future needs. It may be wise to buy a system that is bigger than you currently need if your data will be expanding (whose isn't).

I have the same kind of situation as Stevieboy, except I currently have 4 servers to backup. Will an autoloader allow sumultaneous backups of the servers or do they each need their own?
