Does anybody know a way of creating a tannoy service to broadcast out to all phones or just a select few?

95% of our 2000 phones are single line 7911/12's.
It is needed for making emergency announcements.
Previously I have heard people stating they have set the second line on 7941's to auto answer - but we have no second lines.

How would I do this?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You need a third party product to do that. IPCelerate or Berbee are the best out there. You can't broadcast an announcement native to call manager.

Bummer. I'd have thought that a call originated from a nominated number maybe able to force a group of selected exts to auto answer. Is this what IPcelerate and Berbee do??

Thanks for the info by the way.

Only have experience with Berbee (Informacast).

This basically is a store and forward solution. It records the messages and then uses multicast to send out to devices (based on the DN / device pool). We use the IP Speakers that they sell, but it can be done to phones too (be careful of folks on headsets - it can be quite loud if not setup correctly!).

How about using force barge or maybe MPPL ? to force a call onto the user ?

Thanks for all this, can the force barge be made to connect the call to the phone speaker?

if you are trying to announce only on ONE speaker phone then the auto answer will work. I don't know about the barge as it is not the purpose of that feature. You'll have to try it but I doubt it.

My understanding is that you are trying to broadcast an announcement over all or several phones. If that is the case then you need a third party product like the ones suggested above. Trust me on this as othewise you are just wasting your time.
