Tagging on outbound calls

Just switched carriers - Bell to Allstream.

Can't make outbound long distance calls.

Allstream says to change "tagging on outbound calls" from OUTWATS to National or Unknown.

Any ideas on where I do this?
 
did you build a new RDB and RLI for the change? Are they routing out correctly on the new circuits, as in, hitting the new circuits?

On the advice of Allstream, the new carrier; and TELUS, our support vendor -- we were told that nothing on the PBX needed to change, that Allstream would configure the PRI just like it was on Bell --- TELUS was adamant that there was no programming changes needed, that they didn't even need to be on site.

I'm looking at printouts of the RDB and RLI.

This info came from the Allstream CO techs -- they were doing some kind of traces and they see some kind of tag on long distance, not on local and not on toll-free --- they say their switch can't handle this.
 
you can add an RLI for LD that uses the same route/trunks, but add a DMI that does nothing and make CTYP NPA for National. This RLI would have to be added to your Area Codes, so maybe add the DMI to existing RLI and see if it will fly, as well as, local calls work okay.

Thank you very much for that suggestion. I will try adding the DMI to the existing RLI ----

I got it working by removing one of my ROUTs -- it had a DES of WAT --- but I am getting errors now ---

I think I will put back the ROUT --- add the DMI to the existing RLI, CTYP NPA and see how that goes ---- much cleaner solution.

I'll write back and let you know what happens.
