I am a newbee to this forum,I am new to the Tadiran Pbx systems,Ive worked on everything else, even weird ones like Symphony by Telrad.ANYWHO my question is the Tadiran PBX I am in charge of has a Network card in it can I use that and have it sync up on a IP based clock to keep its clock the same as our Computer system

Are you talking about the clock as in date/time? Or clock as in synchronization? I think you're after the date/time type of clock. If so, then the short answer is no. The Coral doesn't use NTP to sync it's clock.

There is one way to do it though.....if you're using a uCMC voicemail you can sync it's clock with the Coral. Because the uCMC is just a PC (Win2k) you can plug it into the LAN and use Atomic Clock Sync (or any software) to ensure it's clock is correct. Then in the config of the uCMC you can tell it to sync the time on the Coral. See the below extract from the uCMC manual.

Sync Clock
This field controls the clock synchronization feature. It may be programmed to either update the voice mail clock from the Coral PBX clock, or update the Coral PBX from the voice mail clock. The action runs automatically while the application is running. There is also a manual sync button on the System Monitor tab. The default value is for the voice mail to be updated from the PBX.
The clock update is performed once every hour. The timer starts when the WinVpx program loads and restarts again whenever the SYNC CLOCK button on the System Monitor tab is pressed.
Default Value: 1
Allowed Values:
1 - the voice mail clock is updated from the PBX clock (PBX clock is the master clock source)
2 - the PBX clock

However, the uCMC must be inside the Coral ie you can't use a networked voicemail.

NTP is one thing I'd like the Coral to have.

This is for disturbedone yes I now understand and the info about the email is great except the email they are using with the Tadiran is Wygant Vision, and if I may ask what in your option is a good voicemail that I could recommend that can be integreated with the Tadiran ,that is as good as the Express messinger is to the mitel

The uCMC is made by Tadiran and integrates nicely. It's just another card in the Coral. The WiCMC is similar (it's Active Voice Repartee for Windows on a card) but more expensive and Tadiran seem to be concentrating on the uCMC. The uCMC is up to 4-24 ports which is usually more than enough for most people.

There is another way to keep the time up to date. You could write a script for Procomm to run every day. The PC would keep the correct time, then once a day Procomm could log in to the Coral and alter it's time. Not the best but could be done.

I don't know Wgyant Vision or Express Messenger but Googling I see they're small/medium systems. What size customer do you have with a Coral 3/FlexiCom 5000? ie how much do they want to spend? But to be able to sync it all it's the uCMC or nothing.
