Tables

I have pretty extensive knowledge of how tables work. However, there are always things out there to learn and I'm wondering if someone knows how, (or if it's even possible) to get a header row to SPAN COLUMNS. Not repeat, because we've had several instances where we want a table to be in multiple COLUMNS, yet we want the header to Span both or all 3 of the columns. However, the only options are every column, once per frame, or once per page. I've looked in every menu and option for tables and I can't find an option to get headers to span columns. Am I missing something? OR Is this just not possible?

Perhaps an extra text box placed atop the table would do.

If you just select the cells you want to span and go to Table menu/merge cells, you'll get the result you want.

The Menu/merge cells works only for cells that are adjacent. Even though it's the same table, it seems when rows go from one column to the next you cannot select them the same way you would when they're adjacent. I think, (Like in registration marks post) The only way to span a head across a table that's multiple [PAGE] columns, is to put a separate text block for the header accross the top.

If you draw a text box that is the width of all 3 columns and make 2 extra columns that are sized to fit the gutter btween columns, the top row can then be merged to span the page.
