I have 2 tables that I can't delete from the Relationships window. They have no line between them, they just won't go away. I delete them, but when I show all again, they reappear. It's preventing me from making a change to one of my tables. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Paul

Have you ticked Show all relations in the Relationships menu ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

Right-click the table, select "Hide Table", then save the new layout before exiting (if you try to exit without doing so it will will ask if you want to save - select "yes")

Have fun!)

PH and Alex,

I've done both of those, and still I can't change the table designs. I get the message that I have to delete its relationships in the Relationships window.

I should add that there are no links between the two tables, they simply won't go away. Any other ideas? Your assistance is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Paul

I suspect I might have corrupted the database somehow. In making other changes, I suddenly had relationships appear that weren't there before. So I just created new tables and appended the data from the old tables. Problem solved, though with extra work. Sorry for bothering you with this.

It's not a bother, somebody in the future may have the same problem and get an idea for a solution from your post.

Thanks for this discussion guys. I've just come across the problem too. I have the feeling that it is due a bug where changing keys does not remove the underlying indexes which hang around to form relationships. Also the change in ?Access 2000 which allowed you to change the name of an object and a cross-referencing object retained that reference. I needed to use all the suggestions above to get a clean Relationship
