Tables in quark

How do you import a table from a Word doc into Quark without losing all the formatting?

im not sure you can doodah. i know that's not what you wanted to hear.

in the Word doc that can actually allow you to do this. I worked on technical manuals for a year and this worked for me. Copy the whole table, paste into Quark and do not freak. Select all, then shift-command-T, and you'll get Quark's familiar but scary tab dialog box. Now, eyeball your table mess, set tabs at intervals that look close, then apply. You'll see your table info begin to look less shot-gunned. It will help to turn on the invisibles in Quark to see if the original info had double tabs, space bar &quot;dots&quot;, hard returns, etc. Eliminte the extra stuff, with just one tab between each entry. It takes a little practice, but it beats converting the table to a graphic file; these usually don't print well anyway. Rock On.<br>
