Tables Error - Opening tables SQL 7.0

We have been running SQL 7 for a few months with very few problems. Occasionally we had to open up one of the tables manually edit it for one of the database. When we tried to open the table today we encountered the following error:

An unexpected error happended during this operation
[Query] - Query Designer encountered a Query error:
Unspecified error.

I have tried stopping and restarting SQL but no effect. This error occurs for all tables in all databases. Can someone please steer me in the right direction to remedy this. Thanks.

It may be a bug. You don't say which tool you're using (Enterprise mgr?) however, take a look at these MS articles:

Thanks for the info. Apparently MS is aware of the quirks
in SQL7 and has a lot of "workarounds". Much appreciate the info.
