Table Row BackColor

I have a table that has a black background with white text on it which looks fine when viewed in the browser but when it is printed the back doesn't print and the text is in black. Why doesn't it print like it looks on the screen?

Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced

Scroll down the list of options until you can see the one that says "Print background colors and images"

Check it.

Press OK.

Is there another way I can write the html so that it will print a black box with white text in it, no matter the settings? I guess I could make the whole thing an image but I don't really want to do that.

It can be acheived with stylesheets by creating a separate style for print and one for the screen.
