Has anyone had problems after running table repair when it finds ErrorCode 53 Level 2 - BTree mismatch..... If I rebuild, it corrupts the tables. Is there any connection with:
1. Size of table - 128MB
2. Password protected
3. Large index file

JoeNG ive located the error msg and have steps ive taken to try and resolve the error
firstly on original Running version of paradox 4 the error msg is GP 0000 AT PDOXRUN:28:12C8
i then located paradox 4 and installed it to new directory off installation disks and i get this error UNEXPECTED Condition: GP 0000 AT Paradox:28:12D7 Leaving Paradox
thats error msg i also get after a re-install of paradox 4
any help is greatly appreciated.
This kind of error message so early after starting Paradox usually relates FILES= in the config.sys of the PC running Paradox. This has to be aleast 40.
If FILES=40 (or more to a max of 255, but suggest less than max), it could be that the Paradox NetFile Location has not been set for a networked version of Paradox, but we won't go there yet. I'm sure this has been discussed earlier in this forum.
The other thing is that Paradox hates memory above 16Mb. YOu can limit it to the maximum with the command line switch -extk 16000.
ie run
paradox -extk 16000

We have a delphi based application which uses Paradox tables. We have a situation where we need to do a fresh upload of data in to all the tables after deleting the existing one. The data for upload will be available to us in text files. Could someone tell me how to upload data in to existing paradox tables.
I checked database explorer and databse desktop for any upload(import) functionality. But i couldn't see any. This is bit urgent and could someone help me to sort out this.
One of my friends told me to use access import/export option to perform this task? Can i use access for doing this or Is there any other way to do this task.
I don't think Delphi has build-in import/export function. You can write your own import function in Delphi or search the web for import/export component.
Of course, the easiest way is to use Paradox 's import function.
Thanks for all the help guys i have since resolved the problem ad was most impressed by the wealth of knowledge on programs such as paradox which i have heard of but never seen in use up until i was called in to rescue the database.
thanks to everyone who helps and have a merry x-mas & happy new year
