I have a client I swapped out a M7410 for a new T7406E.

The phone is used when the Operator/Reception has to leave her desk. Make coffee, copies, deliver mail etc.
Her T7316 and the T7406e should ring at the same time 24/7

The existing progamming was untouched....I tested all ring and appearances: OK

The handset goes into sleep mode and the client says
it takes two rings to wake up! Now she has 2 rings before it FWDs on. I could lengthen the FWD but they want what they HAD.

Nowhere do I see where you can disable SLEEP.
Is it NORMAL to have it wake on ring AND taking 1-2 rings to fire up the speaker/ringer?

Bunnie, does that use that same base as a 7406E?

So I went out there to verify the reports.

(DID's for 3 company Main #'s, A&R on 7316 and 7406)

YEP. 1 sometimes 2 rings before it comes alive.
You would think it was ALWAYS one or two.

That makes it feel like a capacitor is filling up or something.
Defective Handset?
I have seen others "mention" the sleep mode being a problem on the Forums.
I really thought there would be more posts about this,
since it affects call forward to voicemail....2 rings heard vs. 4 rings FWD.

I watched it fail.
SO !!
I Feat 4 the Operator, forward to the 7406e Ext.
Works perfect every time. ??? That doesn't makes sense.

The handset is programmed with A&R and the forwarded call comes in on the correct button.
(DID's for 3 company Main #'s, A&R on 7316 and 7406)
I worried all FWD calls would come in on an ICM button, so she wouldn't know what company was being called, and answer accordingly. Rang in on right button.

Feature 4 working has me scratching my head.
Programming?
Bad handset?

Have you seen in action when the set is not asleep?
Under each line in programming what DN is the Prime Set at?
What is the DRT timer set too?
Is there a night service/mode in use?

curlycord, thanks for some direction.
Feature 4 certainly suggests that it is not a sleep mode issue.

I have seen it work perfect all the time when awake.

I am not sure/not there about Prime. I would expect it to be
the Operator/7316, X239.
But since someone-thru the years- changed Operator from 221, default, that would be good to check. I didn't install this but did convert it to DID's a while back.
Since I built them, I "think" I primed them to X239
(cordless 290).

ICS 7.1
DRT is 4 rings

They have a NIGHT button.
I don't remember setting up groups or ringing in Services
Nights go straight to VM.

WHen I check, what "should" I look for or some of these read?

AND THANKS

So I did a call forward (F4) Rings first time everytime.

That's telling me it's programming.
The lines R&A on the cordless.
Prime to the T7316

It acts like maybe a delayed ring or something.

ANY suggestion?

VM/AA Nights (FYI)
