you can install 3 base stations the dip swithes will be set to offset other bases. If you only have one base dont worry about switches. just config the handsets!

yes just assign the desired lines to the extension. Programs the same as regular extenion.
The switches determine the frequency range that the base operates at. By changing the switches, you can operate 2 bases (3 phones each) in the same area. As long you only have one base, there is no need to change the settings. I dont have the specifics handy, but it is included in the 7406 documentation that comes with the phone.
