Hi,

I have a customer that has a T7406 setup with two handsets. I have wired a third extension to the base and when I try to register the third handset, it kicks the other two handsets off...All handsets have unique IDs and I have tried to register them one by one with no success. Any idea what could be the problem? What dipswitch settings should I have? I am currently 1 and 2 down and 3 up.

Thanks!

Have you tried plugging a set into the basecord feeding your base unit to ensure the port is good?

Yes. I can mix and match ports/extension numbers. I even swapped out the base unit. Could dip switches be set wrong?

The dip switches are for more the one base station. The first should be down -up-down.Note: Sending the security code to the base station is only performed for the first
handsets. For subsequent handsets, you need only identify the security code on the
handset.

Thanks. I have tried both dipswitch settings and the only setting that seems to work is Down Down Up. Also, once the first two handsets are up and I try to register the third handset, it comes up and the other two go offline. Possible signal interference? Software level? Can't figure out why the third handset is having a problem!

Have you tried getting 2 handsets up & running & than taking the batteries out of those so that they can not conflict while getting the 3rd one going. I have had similar issues & have always had better luck this way.

Yes, I have removed batteries after each handset is registered! I originally thought that this was the problem, butI guess not! It doesn't make sense...

Thanks-I have tried those settings (for the first base unit). The only setting that seems to work is for a "second" base unit. I think that there might be some kind of interference...

So it's a 6th handset....

Make sure of the following

Make sure there is at least 11 feet between bases.

First base:
Make sure you have 3 digital signals from KSU to back of base
Dips - Down Up Down

Handset 1:
Assign SS code 111111
Send the SS code to base
Set as ID 1

Handset 2:
Assign SS code 111111
*Do not send the code*
Set as ID 2

Handset 3:
Assign SS code 111111
*Do not send the code*
Set as ID 3

------------

2nd base:
Make sure you have 3 digital signals from KSU to back of base
Dips - Down Down UP
Create SS code 222222

Handset 1:
Assign SS code 222222
Send the SS code to base
Set as ID 1

Handset 2:
Assign SS code 222222
*Do not send the code*
Set as ID 2

Handset 3:
Assign SS code 222222
*Do not send the code*
Set as ID 3

Thanks. I think that I did essentially that, but I will double-check.
