T7316 vs T7316E

Hi All,
Is there any functional difference betwwen the T7316 and the T7316E. We recently sent 30 away to get refurbised and the the company called us to report that out of the 30 18 were just T7316. We asked what is the difference and we were told that the T7316 show up as 7310 on the system and the first 2 buttons are non programmable for lines. Is this correct?

That's about it. A 7316E has the handsfree button on the bottom underneath the volume bar.

If your system is 6.0 or lower, it won't matter anyways. The system will see a 7316 or a 7316E as the same phone.

Also can't add a KIM to the 7316 must be an E with 6.1 or better.
The T7316E was designed to work with 6.1 and as biv343 said if your at 6.0 or less it dosen't much matter...

Thanks for the info. Just to clarify, if I am using a T7316 will I loss the use of any of the buttons?
If so which ones?

No - shouldn't be an issue. All features work the same, except for where you can and can't put lines. Again, that depends on the software release on your system as to whether the Norstar sees it as a 7310 or 7316E.

Silver987 - Good catch on the KIM. I knew there was something else I was forgetting....

Yes, on the T-7316 you will lose the bottom right hand line button if you allow handsfree. T-7316-E has a whole new button for handsfree below the dial pad.

Hi,
The 7316 is a 7310 in a different case. The 7316E is a different phone entirely. Completely different button programming. Also older systems ( pre 5.0 software I believe) will only recognize the 7315E as a 7316 or 7310 configuration
